Score for my inner book nerd.

Don’t you just love a good freebee??  In my old neighborhood, Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn, it’s a thing to leave your unwanted quality goods on the sidewalk for others to take.  ”Stoop Sales” are especially big in the spring through fall, I’ve gotten a few good books this way, amongst other things.  Well, this score was due to my friend, Staci’s keen eye locating her favorite John Green book, Paper Towns.  I didn’t even really pay much attention when she said “oh, someone left a John Green book out here”.  But when I came back home hours later, it was still there, abandoned by it’s owner in hopes that someone in the building will take it home, so now it’s all mine!

I have actually only read one John Green book, which is suprising with the geeky circle I run with and many of them Nerdfighters.  The only reason I even read this book was because my friend, Elaine, kept telling me that I needed to read his stuff, and then one day, out of the blue, I get a care package from Scotland with The Fault in our Stars.  I texted her telling her that she is one sneaky lady, so now I have to read it, don’t I?  Her response?  Exactly.  Well, I read and I cried (in public for that matter, not cool) and I loved.  Not sure I qualify as a Nerdfighter, but I guess I am slowly starting…

I better not end up crying on the subway again with this one.
